Mischeif Night

I set myself up, ready to run as soon as my finger left the doorbell. I looked back to see my friends silently scattered throughout the darkness. I pressed on the doorbell twice before launching myself off the porch and sprinted to the street to rejoin my friends and to watch as the person looked around in the darkness. We all got into a safe hiding spot that allowed us to see the man but still keeping us out of sight. We waited for a response, a light to go on or someone to answer the door, but it never came. We all stood in disappointment. I knew I had to try again, so i started to go back and halfway through the front yard, the most blinding light filled the yard. My mind said run but my body had no response. I stood in shock, wanting to run but I was paralyzed. The door opened and a man with muscles bigger than my whole body stood on the porch. Our eyes met and without thinking, my legs were finally striding faster than a gazelle. I tilted my head to see the man chasing after me, getting closer and closer with every pace. Two bright beams of light illuminated in front of me. I dove onto the grass and the man dove to the opposite side of the road. I used that time to hide and dove into the woods right in front of me. I was quieter than a mouse as I lifted my head to see the man walking in circles of confusion. I had successfully escaped when my phone started vibrating. He looked over to the spot I was in. I thought fast and quickly but silently grabbed a nearby branch and pulled on it. As soon as he was close, I let go and he was immediately knocked to his feet. I didn't take any time leaving the scene. I met back up with my friends, who were still sitting in behind the bush in shock, and said, "Bros, I'm done for the night." Everyone of us laughed and started walking back to my house.
