In the Lineup

It's more than just being written on paper.
It's based on what you went through in your last game.
It's your way of realizing your coach don't think you turned into water vapor.
It's always gonna change, never gonna stay the same.

It's the feeling you get when you're on a hot streak,
It's the safety of knowing your not gettin' knocked out,
It's when you feel like you're on a mountain peak,
It's when you know there's no sprout,
coming to steal the spot from you.
Leading off.

You know there's gonna be some jokes,
You better handle hard your bat of oak,
cuz you never know when the next of your folks,
will take it from you,
and turn you into a pile of goo.
Don't sit still for him to steal your stroke.

all but appreciated

I kick off the daydream of the student drooling all over his desk.
I am in the mind everyone including Johnny Beske.
I'm not a TV or a computer but something more, what i am is for you to find and me to hide
people look for inspiration in me often enough and i always complied
in reality i am the reason for everything that exists
right down to that story about Santa's little lists
i am the mysterious i can't be seen
now its time for you to find out what this means

dear doubt, dear assurance

"Art is over-rated.”
“How could you say that?!"
“I bet even Davinci thought art was dead at one point.”
“Oh, you’re just in a slump.”
“No, I think we need something new.”
“Like what, my dear doubt?”
“I don’t know, my dear self-assurance, something that puts meaning to survival again.”

Behind the Wall

It all started on a calm Saturday morning, when Bob was sitting down reading the newspaper. The day seemed like it was going to be like any other Saturday and Bob only wanted to do one thing. Relax. And Bob's day was going nicely until he started to hear small screeching noises coming from the wall. As Bob walked over to investigate, it stopped. "Just my imagination" he said to himself. After that he went off to continue his day. At 3:24pm, the noise started to happen again, only this time more annoying. The sound sounded like pots and pans falling, but repeatedly. Bob walked over to the wall again, and once again, the noises stopped. The time was 5:30 when the noise started again. This time, Bob was as enraged as a stampeding elephant. He rushed over to the monkey house of a wall and tripped. He went right through the wall. The wall didn't break, it turned liquidy and swallowed him! Bob looked up to see that him wall had been a portal and had teleported him into a world full of monkeys fighteing eachother with pots, pans, and for some reason were screeching as they fought. Bob slowly backed up to the wall, teleported back to his house, and went to therapy.

Life

Life is like a pair of shoes.
We dont like change.
We like being able to slip on our comfortable, warn out, formfitted shoes.
We like knowing that life is the same and that nothing changed.
We liked being able to go back to our shoes that got us through everything when life got hard.
We like having that one safe thing.
Life is like a pair of shoes...
sometimes made fun of, laughed at, and judged just by the outside.

Life is like a pair of shoes.

Who Are We?

I don't want to be the same. I don't want to be just another fish in the sea. I don't want to be just another color in the rainbow. I don't want to be the same. But I am. Ariel wanted to be "where the people are", And Cinderella wanted to be treated just like her step-sisters. Did they ever want to be different? All they wanted to be was the same. But they weren't. I guess in this world no one will ever settle for who they are, and what they strive to be.

One of those days

Ever have one of those days?

The days where nothing you do is right, no matter how hard you try.
The days where it's never good enough.
The days when you try to be a good person, but it ends up being a mess.
The days when you try to do the right thing, but it always goes wrong.
The days where you keep going and going but it just keeps getting worse.

You're not the only one.

Spring

It was a beautiful spring day.The sun was a shining down on the world warming anyone who walked in its path. The birds high up in the trees were singing a lovely melody that made me want to dance. The creatures in the grass were hopping, chirping, and croaking. The kids next door were laughing and running having what seemed like the best day of their life. The flowers were in full bloom while the trees swayed in the light breeze running through the air. Everything was perfect and beautiful on this spring day.

parched

I finally got you to hear me out Showed you that you could be proud That I would one day amount To the person that you always wanted me to be I gave you everything I had to show Everything I had for you to see Something special and unique About plain old ordinary me Day after day you were my motivation Till it got to the point of starvation A hunger for not food itself But for your acceptance For your gift of health Because you were the air I breathed The things that made me awake from sleep Till through my fingers you started to seep You went right straight to what you could have first And then next after starvation came my thirst

Hope

Hope is what gets you out of bed everyday.

Hope is what drives you to be a better person.

Hope is that feeling you get when you have an epiphany.

Hope goes to sleep but later wakes up.

Hope never gives up on you so never give up on hope.

So, what is hope?

Too Soon

The pregame jitters as the court stares you down
You look in your hands like you saw a creepy clown
You are scared of what lies ahead
But then you put this game to bed
You shoot the lights out, swish, swish, swish
Everything went in just like your wish
The game was won
It's already done?

Gone

It's going to take a little while for this pain to go away,
for this hurt to heal,
but I'll make it through it.
Just like always.
Loosing you was like loosing my bestfriend,
even though I knew you liked them better.
We laughed about things, that no one would.
But then you started giving up on yourself,
and something took hold of you.
You drank to the point you didn't know my name, but we all had to adjust to it.
We did, cause you were our grandma. We loved you, and nothing would change that.
I know you were streseds about everything, I understand I do.
But now I'm at the point where I cry because I'm more mad then upset, because there
could have been a cure, to fix you and make you better again.
But thinking about it now, even though it was just a little while ago..
I know your in a better place now, and I know that you know I love you, and now
that's all that matters to me.

I miss you Gram

One Space at a Time

We are stuck playing this game called life,
Every move brings you on space closer,
Every space brings you to a split in the path,
You can't see were the paths lead you,
You cant tell when there are no more moves to make,
You can only control which direction you going.

Our World Could Be A Better Place

Once people realize what the world is Then maybe we’ll stop fighting. Once people realize how we are treating the world Then maybe we’ll help the needy. Once people realize which is better-peace or fighting Then maybe our world could be a better place. Once people start caring Then maybe everyone will stop crying. Once people start helping Then maybe Africa can thrive. Once people start careing and helping Then maybe our world could be a better place. Just maybe our world could be a better place.

Quit While You're A-Head

How awful would it be if you were just a head with no body, legs, or arms? Well Jack Taylor knows how it is. Jack is a bodiless boy and every day his mother puts him on the windowsill and he watches the boys and girls play outside. Jack was always so jealous, he was also always upset, and he needed a way out.
One hot summer day he was watching from his normal spot and his mom got a call from the Dr. Edwards, a very famous rich and successful doctor. He offered a chance of a life time deal; he could give Jack a full working body free of charge. The doctor picked Jack because he was the only bodiless person in America. Jack and his mother agreed this would be a great idea and Jack was ecstatic.
On the day Jack came home with a full body and a rehabilitation specialist, he learned how to walk and move like a real boy. He was so pleased and happy for himself and asked his mother if he could go play outside. His mother said yes and he sprinted out the door and was immediately hit by a car and died. The moral of this story is quit while you’re a head.

Oh the Different Types of Weather

Rain
It’s  cold
And wet
And kisses your face when you step outside.
Clouds
They’re white
And fluffy
And look like big puffy marshmallows.
Snow
It’s cold
And white
And melts to the touch on your tongue.
Hail
It’s hard
And small
And hurts if you stand outside while it’s falling.

Triple L

Live

Laugh

Love

It's always those three words.

Three small words.

Yet, they are so significant.

Live - every day as it is your last

Laugh - at your mistakes... everybody makes them

Love - the people that surround you

Three words.

All built around one.

LIFE.

Live - your LIFE

Laugh - at the mistakes you make in LIFE

Love - the people in your LIFE

Three words.

One meaning.

One life.

Remember

Do you remember the days when you laughed at everything, and were scared of nothing?
Do you remember the days when you actually liked going to school, and didn't need a computer to be happy?
Do you remember the days when you held your mom and dad's hand, and spent time with your family a lot?
Do you remember the days when you didn't have to do anything to your hair, and all you wanted to be was a teenager?
Do you remember the days when you didn't have to worry about anything, and cuts were only from falling?

Because I remember.

Far, Far Away

As soon as her father slammed the door in her face, as if she was a dog getting put in a cage, she knew she had to get away from this place. Everyone around here hated her, so it wouldn't make a difference if she wasn't there right? She ran out into the wild like a wild horse running away from the modern day life. She had no idea where she was going, but it really didn't matter. She didn't have a destination, just a goal. Which was to get away. She ran and ran, like no other girl has ran before, and before she knew it she came across an abandoned house that was so worn down that with one shake in the earth, it would be down easily. She walked up to it ad inspected it as if she was a detective. CREAK! There was a loud noise coming from the inside and Hannah braced herself for what was coming next...... a ball of yellow ran up to the window and pounced on it. Hannah staggered backward and started to run away but stopped when she realized what the yellow ball was, it was a dog. "Why is he in the house all by himself?" she asked to herself. She opened up the door to the house and sure enough the dog came bolting out. Hannah decided to inspect the house a little more and when she came to the master bedroom, there was a nice white carpet with red spreading through it like the source where it was coming from was running water like a waterfall. At that moment she knew exactly why the dog was alone and why it came bolting out of the house. She felt like doing the exact same and she knew she had to get away from this place, just like last time.

The Officials Intercerate

Life is like a 3d movie. When i reach out to grab it it disapears as quickly as it came. "Xander, Xander where are you? I screamed frantically. The people around me screaming to their loved ones too. The people were being dragged by officials into long creepy hallways kicking and screaming. I was officially scared for my life looking for my boyfriend, pushing my way through the crowded gigantic train station room. What was going on? Why is this all happening? But most of all what would happen to Xander and I? "Arin im here I got you!" I turned around to a familiar hand grasping mine. "Xander whats going on whats going to happen?" "I dont know....I really dont know." Looking into his green eyes surrounded by black hair I feared the worst. Something was seriously wrong. My feet were moving after Xander's who was moving quickly so we wouldnt get trampled by the crowd standing there. I looked down to the ground letting Xander guide me and prayed to God that this will a ll be over soon. "BING" a bell sound disrupted my praying. I looked up slowly toward the billboard where the train times were supossed to be and where the noise came from. That bell meant only one thing, I stopped dead in my tracks. A note from the officials, rulers of our world. GOOD AFTERNOON 2020 EARTHLINGS, THE WROLD IS OFFICIALLY ENDING FOR YOU PEOPLE. BUT DO NOT FEAR. WE HAVE COME TO TAKE YOU IN A TIME CAPSULE TUBE IN A SPACESHIP TO PRESERVE YOUR BODIES WHILE YOUR CHIP WILL BE TESTED ON. THE CHIP WILL BE INSERTED SAFELY INTO YOU AFTER IN THE YEAR 2096.YOU WILL HAVE ALL OF YOUR MEMORIES STILL INTACT AND BE REUNITED WITH YOUR LOVED ONES. REMEMBER, WE ARE ONLY TRYING TO MAKE YOUR LIVES EASIER. THE OFFICIAS My knees felt weak as i finished reading the letter. Xander and I were going to be seperated.... for seventy six years? As i realized Xander had stopped to read the letter to i screamed over the more frantic crowd. "Come on keep moving, we have to just stay away from the officials and find a way to get out of here." Relieved, i thought we were going to be ok, both of us, we were going to make it out together. But then I felt an unbearable amount of pain at my side. Somebody had knocked the wind out of me while trying to claw their way out of the crowd. Vision blurring, i let go of Xander's hand and stood trying to catch my breath. He was a couple of feet away from me when he realized he wasnt holding my hand anymore. As he turned around fearfulness covered his face, but when he spotted me relief washed over.He tried to push his way towards the crowd screaming. "Arin, Arin hold on !" But it was too late. Cold giant metal hands wrapped around my stomach and lifted me off the ground. By now i got my breath back and started to kick and scream. "Xander no wait let me go!" The more i struggled the more firm the grip against my stomach became. But I didnt care. I had to get to Xander, and fast. "Arin wait hold on, please dont take her away!" I could feel my squirming body being carried away, farther and farther from Xander but no one seemed to care. Her was two inches away, so close, but an official wheeled over and picked him up with his metal claws. 'No no no!" We screamed, reaching out trying to grab each other. "The more you scream and struggle the harder it is going to be, girl" Said the official as he dragged me down a long white hallway to a closed door at the end. How did we get throught he crowd so fast? How did Xander slip through my hands so fast? I never got to say goodbye. Still struggling I screamed, "Let me go Xander no!" "I warned you girl" said the big metal piece of junk. I saw the metal claws reach up towards the side of my head. I froze with fear, he was taking out my chip. My life, my memories and only contact with this universe. As my body shut down and stopped struggling I thought of what Xander told me everyday. "Life is like a 3d movie, when I reacg out to grab the perfect image it disapears as quickly as it came."
He stands tall

He saves lives

He fights for a good cause

He goes through the unbearable

He tries his hardest

He is an American soldier

And......

He fights for our safety.

Drama

Everywhere you go

Where ever you see

You can't escape it

It's like and addiction

You can't control it

It's like a weed

You can't tame it

Like a tree

It never stops growing

Like a broken record

There's never an end

Until 2012

When the world ends.

Pass It On

Eww that's a dirty one.
I'll get rid of it the next time I'm out under the sun.
Maybe trade it in for a soda at the park.
But gotta get my change.
Huh? This one's got a big pen mark.

I'll trade it on.
To the Animal Kingdom.
Only five bucks admission.
That's exciting enough to get you wishin'.

Another ripped ragged bill that looks like its been through a World War,
I just got from the guy at the bar, representing my change for a hot dog.
Or is it an omen for part of a salary,
of the guy that cuts the next log?

Does money really burn a whole in your pocket?
Or do companies crumple cash to make it ugly?
So you trade them in for more products.
Is the world just a money cycle,
of people trying to get rid of their dirty bucks? Money really does make the world go round.

Think

What is the world coming to? A place where depression is the normal? A place where people wear fake smiles like socks and shoes? There are faces, a million miles out, just waiting for the end. It is reality. There are people, who wear their face like a mask; covering up their true colors. They fear that if people see the real person behind their disguise, they will be accused, blamed, and hurt. Is this truly the world we live in? Yes. I wish everyone would take off their masks, shine, and be seen. Let the world see their beatiful face. I wish people can look pass the flaws of people and look and their heart. Just think, when you are walking down the hall and see all of the smiles and laughs, it is most likely just a mask. It is just a cover-up. It is just an act.

Regret

I wish I could go back. I wish I could change everything. I wish I could apoligize to the people I hurt. Looking back on high school, I regret everything. I regret starting rumors about anyone and everyone. I regret making kids feel like they didn't belong. I regret being a self centered snob. As I sit here and think about the past, I wonder why. Why was I so mean, so hurtful, so rude? I continued to dissapoint myself because I couldn't come up with one reasonable answer. Now that I look back, I realize there wasnt a reason for me to act the way that I did. It was all pointless. "I wish I could go back. I wish I could change everything. I wish I could apologize to the people I hurt." That's what I am forced to think everyday. My life is filled with regret. Regret that I will never be able to change. Ever.

Final Four

Cheers of joy and tears of sadness.
Bruises from elbows and cuts from floor burns.
Fights for every game because it might be the last.
There is no time to quit and no time to be tired.
There is only a time to win.
Welcome to the Final Four.
The balloon grows, from all of the pressure All coming to a halt, gathering up inside And while it leaves people out of breath, a tiresome job They do not stop. Instead, they go out of their way to increase the pressure But there is only so much a balloon can hold inside Flexible, yet not inferior. And suddenly it gives in, to all of the pressure Instead of trying to adjust it's size, The balloon just pops. Though it is shocking to some, Scary even, deep down they never stop Never stop looking for a new balloon to pop To destroy, for just a few seconds For just a few seconds of disgusting joy.

SPRING!!

The bright green grass in all of the lawns

The flowers bloom in the garden beds

The bees start buzzing happily

The ice cream truck spreads cheer all around

The birds start singing in the trees

Spring is the happiest season

The day that never ends

“Why won’t this day ever end”, I said annoyingly. My best friend Allie looked at me with a sad face that made me instantly laugh. It seemed like it would never end as I made my way to my eighth period Spanish class and said goodbye to Allie. I sat down in my seat and rolled my eyes at my teacher as he told us to get our homework out. As always I had forgotten to do the worksheet and silently did it while he was checking the other kid’s homework. I always got away with it since he was clueless. I stared at the clock longing for it to be 2:40, but it was only 2:15. After a few minutes the classroom was like a jungle, with kids jumping around, taking pictures with their cell phones and making fun of the teacher. I looked back up at the clock and found that only 5 minutes had passed. “This day was certainly going to last forever”, I thought. This was the longest half hour of my life. Class slowly came to an end and I walked to my locker and saw Allie waiting for me. “Is it just me or did this day seem like it would never end”, she says. I smile at her, thankful someone feels the same way. I walk into homeroom and wait till my bus gets called. I rush out the door, run through the mob on the stairway, and push through the front door. “Thank god this day is over”, I thought.

Release

I feel the way I do
because of you
whenever I see you pass
my emotions burst
I can't hade my true feelings
and you see that
every day
I start to say something
but it doesn't come out
you know what I'm thinking
even when I don't say a thing
but I want to come out with it
so I can hear it
Myself
I think
wonder
hope
that my words
will come across
the way I intend them to
then we talk
but I only speak
"I Hate You,
You Make Me Sick"
Released

Pain Hurts

Pain is temporary, Pain is in our head.

Pain cannot hurt me, Pain isn't strong

Be tough, Don't be a baby

They are just words, said to me daily

Pain can last, Pain exists

Pain can hurt me, Pain is tough

I try to act tough, It try not to be a baby

These are more than just words, said to me daily

Pain lasts forever, Pain is all around

Pain does hurt me, Pain is stronger than i am

Words cause pain, even more than actions do,

so think before you speak, because pain does hurt.

Someday, but just for now

Someday, we'll have everything figured out

Someday, we will say goodbye to everything we ever had

Someday, we will figure this out

Someday, we'll see everything we missed

Someday, we will run away from what we love most

Someday, we'll know everything will get better

Someday, we'll be together forever

Someday, we'll go our seperate ways

Someday, we'll live in fear

Someday, we'll see just how happy we are together

Someday, we will start all over

But for now, let's think about today

Waiting on You

Every day I beg. I beg to see you. Every week I cry. I cry because I cant be near you. Every month I sigh. I sigh because it's hard to say goodbye. But I got through all of these years. Why cant I last a couple more days. Its hard. Its hard I say. Its hard because I know I'm getting older. Every day. One day. I'm gonna be far away. And your going to visit. It will never be different. It will never be different because i'm not paitient. Im done waiting. It will always be the same. Miss you Mom.

Drama

Why can't all the slamming doors, slapping faces, and screaming stop? Why can't the drama stop? Why can't the constant eye rolling, tear falling, and backstabbing turn into peace? Why can't drama turn into peace? Why can't the insults, put downs, and dirty rumors turn into compliments? Why can't drama involve compliments? Why can't everyone just get along for once?

Wonderful!

Wonderful!
is wonderful
Why is it wonderful
maybe it is wonderful
maybe it is amazing
maybe it is helpful
maybe it is nice
maybe it is cool
maybe it is sweet
maybe it is enjoyable
maybe it is exciting
maybe it is eccentric
maybe it is enthusiastic
Wonderful is simply anything good that you can think of.
How wonderfully simple.
Wonderful is a very wonderful word!
Wonderful!

Why.......

Why do people make fun of others? Why do we like certain things and hate other things?? Why cant the world be at peace??? Why is there distruction???? Why is there good and bad????? Why do people make wrong decision when they know there not doing the right thing?????? Why do people ask so many question??????? why?????

Vikings Day

United States citizens are being lied to. Every year in October United States citizens celebrated Columbus Day in order to pay homage to Christopher Columbus, the man who supposedly discovered America. However, there is evidence that the Vikings were actually the first to discover North America. Actually, the first person to land in North America landed there by accident.
It started when the father and son team of Erik the Red and Leif Erikson set off to explore the Western Hemisphere. This duo and some other Vikings, landed on present day Greenland. Life there was harsh and there was very little arable land. So Leif Erikson, the son of Erik the Red, followed a rumor he had heard from another Viking had told. The rumor was that a previous Viking had tried to sail to the west of Greenland but was blown off course and by the time he realized what direction he was in he was off the coast of a green and luscious land. This land was present day Newfoundland. So Leif Erikson sailed to the south and eventually landed on Newfoundland and possibly south of that, perhaps Cape Cod. The year was 1000 AD, five hundred years before Columbus. Erikson started a colony there but it only lasted a decade and the inhabitants all returned to Greenland.
Therefore Columbus wasn’t actually the person who discovered America. It was Leif Erikson who landed on North America first. Americans should not be celebrating Columbus Day. Americans should be celebrating Leif Erikson Day.

Better?

Hey, what did you get on the math test?” A boy asked.

“I got an 88. What did you get?” Another boy replied.

“Wow, I did better than you, I got a 97.” I’m better than you,” he answered.

“Did you get invited to the party tonight?” A girl asked.

“No I didn’t. Did you?” Another girl replied.

“Oh, well I did. People like me more than you, I’m better than you,” the girl answered.

What does it mean to be better than someone? Is there such thing as being better than

someone? Everyone is different, but does that make them better than anyone else?

Spring Finally Here!

The sky is sunny
The birds have come back
The snow is gone
The leaves are starting to come back

No more staying inside all day
No more coldness
No more heavy jackets

Finally everyone couldn't wait,
now can the summer come?

Russian Rule-let

More had just been shot down. No one knew what was going on. For once, the U.S.A. government felt weak. General Watson knew he couldn’t send any more planes, as they were just getting shot to shreds. "Admiral, what’s it looking like in Egypt?" inquired General Watson. "Al-Qaeda is still paired with the Russians and Germany; they just shot down our supply planes." replied the Admiral tensely. "Now Germany, that’s the fifth European country that has turned it’s back on us in 3 months" The attack from Germany was like a sucker punch to the face. America was already waging the Korean War (now in full force) and the Middle Eastern War, which looked to be hopeless. Why had the Russians stuck their noses in U.S. affairs? The American government was baffled, lost in a maze of lies and what ifs. Good thing the homeland didn’t know, because the public would be panicking, questioning the government and running scared like there was no tomorrow. This new information was never going to get to the Pentagon, because the aircraft carrier off the shore of England had just been blown sky high. "What in the name of Washington just happen?" demanded General Rakefon. "We lost the aircraft carrier off the coast of England to Russian missiles. General Watson was aboard." a nervous commanding officer said. This was the last straw for General Rakefon. He called the Pentagon telling the Congress to give up the Middle Eastern War and declare war on Russia. Pairing with Al-Qaeda to take down the Middle East, destroying 19 American aircraft carriers and testing nuclear missiles on U.S. soil had been very bold and aggressive of Russia. The U.S. needed to retaliate. In the Pentagon, Congress met and agreed to grant the General Rakefon’s request almost immediately. It was time to put a stop to Russia’s relentless and selfish acts. Rakefon’s family had a long and prosperous reputation in the military. His Grandfather, Dad and the General himself had served as the General of Defense. Although the General had had to step down due to a power struggle with the President, he still had a greater influence than anyone else regarding defensive strategies. Rakefon was the guy you did not dare question about military tactics. Some even said his influence on the government was greater than Obama’s. The naval base had erupted with the news of the new war. Some were happy, some were scared and some didn’t care. For the ones who didn’t care, a war was a war, just a different enemy to defeat. Rakefon himself had mixed feelings. He was glad the U.S. was going to put Russia back in it’s place, but part of him wondered if the U.S. could do it. The Russians were now paired with the most powerful terrorist group in the world, and they controlled the Middle East. The U.S.’s power and defense were weakening, because the nation was losing allies. This war was going to be the hardest and most important war in a long time for the U.S. Three months later, the U.S. was in no better shape. The war with Russia had not yet seen a battle, but reports said both sides were finishing preparations. The U.S. had decided to reschedule the election to next year with an important war going on. Rakefon knew the U.S. was in trouble, when Japan and Australia declared alliances with Russia. However, the matter that left the General looking like a confused lunatic was trying to figure out why Russia was helping so many countries, or was it the other way around. Whatever way it was, big news had come last week, when England started to let Russian troops into their countries. The U.S. was outraged by this and demanded to know the meaning of this action. The English responded by saying it was for protection, as some other European countries had turned their backs on the U.S. and they feared the same. The U.S. thought that reason was as ridiculous as the Pittsburg Steelers immaculate reception, and demanded the real reason. They had heard no response from England in three days and, "General Rakefon" . "What is it Mr. Philbrick?" The General had dozed off. He was at a meeting in the Pentagon discussing the details of the nation’s first move in the Russian war; it was a stressful discussion, as the U.S. hadn’t fought the Russians since the cold war and didn’t know their new tactics. Just now, Timothy Philbrick, the General’s long time friend and recently assigned personal aid, had brought something to his attention. "We have just received a reply from England," stated Tim. He was speaking to everyone now. "Tim, it will be necessary for you to tell us what they said. " ordered the General anxiously. "Well, General Rakefon, I have not read it yet, allow me to pull it up on the big screen." said Tim. The message was put up on the screen. At first glance, Rakefon noticed it was only a paragraph long. He had a bad feeling in his stomach. He had seen these types of messages before, and they never had good news. The message was read: "Dear United States of America, As you already know, Russian troops entered our country with our permission last week. You demanded a reason, as we have been allies for quite some time, and now you are at war with the Russians. We gave you a reason, that being to protect our country, and you did not believe it. This was wise, as it was not the true reason. The truth is that we are now allies with the Russians. We have reviewed the facts and decided that supporting the Russians in the new war is the better decision for the security and prosperity of our country. The Russians will be using our country as a base in the new war. Unfortunately, with this agreement in place, we are going to have to part ways with you. The English-Speaking Treaty that we signed in mid 1800’s is no longer in affect. Please understand, as these valid reasons for our course of action. -The British Parliament" When the reading of this news was complete there had never been so many Gasping men at the same time. This was the greatest blow to the U.S. by far. Rakefon immediately suggested that they should test a new nuclear missile on England. Congress agreed. They had been looking to test the nuclear missiles anyways. With the action of the testing, the U.S. would state that they had no hesitation in attacking England, and it would show they were confident that they were going to win the war, and the US hoped these hostile actions would persuade the parliament to change their alliance. The plan was signed, and the nuclear missile station was informed of their important duties for tomorrow’s test. A week later, things had only gotten worse for the United States. The positive thing was that the nuclear missile had lived up to its potential and killed almost half the Russian troops in the England. However, this had only angered the British more, and they tested one of their missiles on an innocent U.S. cargo ship headed back home, after learning that the treaty had been broken. The U.S. had not done anything since the attack, because they had received a message from South Korea instructing them to pull all of their troops out of Korea, because they were going to surrender in the next two weeks.. Rakefon had argued against this, as he said that they couldn’t give up two wars in six months and both in Russia’s favor. For once, Congress sided against Rakefon. Congress’s decision was based on the facts that the U.S. was lacking allies, already had enough problems with the British and Russia, and the nation needed the troops for the new war. Rakefon eventually agreed, and they had started to talk about possible allies… "We should ask Canada and Mexico to take our side." Rakefon threw out there. "Neither will do much good." "They are both neighboring allies, and can be used as scouts for attacks coming from the north and south. Anyways, if Canada takes our side and we win, they can finally part ways with England. Besides we know that they’ve secretly wanted to that do for the past couple of decades." declared Rakefon. "True but they may side with Britain, fearing that once they declared war, they would be attacked." "If they make the first move strongly without England ever knowing they were at war, they should be left alone" "Yes, but we can only assume that, why not try to side with some Europeans?" This Man who kept arguing his point was really starting to push Rakefon over the edge. "Some have already fired at us before this Russian thing ever started; the only reason we should go over there should be to attack Russia directly" "Yes, trying to reason with some European countries will most likely be wasting our time. We shall carry out your plan General Rakefon" He knew no one was keeping score, but he had just out debated President Obama making the score 5-2. Waiting to hear responses had always been a hard thing for Rakefon, whether it was concerning the government, his money or his family. It started when his older brother had been hospitalized in Iraq when he was 17. Back then his Dad was only a colonel, and you had to be a general for family members to get privileges. He had been told that his brother had been hospitalized in critical condition, and he came home from school every day hoping his brother had stabilized but fearing he had dropped dead. A week later his brother had lost the battle. Ever since, he always feared the negative outcomes and viewed the positives as a blue moon. Two weeks later, Rakefon was on a plane headed toward an army base. His mission was to get a captive to talk. He couldn’t stop thinking about the responses they had gotten from potential allies. Mexico had said they were going to stay neutral during this war and only fight if there was fighting on their soil. Although, Mexico would gladly monitor all Central American, South American and Caribbean Countries for Russian troops. As for Canada, they had given the U.S. a one word message-"Surprise". No one could interpret what it meant until about a second later, when a Canadian bomber flew over and tried to blow up the Pentagon. Of course, the Pentagon can resist almost any type of pressure expect for a hotel falling on it from space, but Rakefon didn’t think something like that was ever going to happen. He quickly determined what happened; the Russians had allied with the British and the Canadians who had never gained full independence from England. The General’s head was spinning. This all seemed like it was happening too fast. Six months for two wars starting or picking up and then ending, Russia picking a fight (also starting a war), and two major allies turning their backs – too much, way too fast. It almost seemed like this whole thing had been planned. This was no time for the General to think though; they were landing in Toronto. This was the city they had taken in the first battle between the U.S. and Canada. "Talk now, or we’ll shoot you" barked Rakefon at the captured Canadian soldier. "You can’t shoot me, you’ll never find out about the new order." shouted the soldier. "What new order?" The soldier wouldn’t talk. "Bang" went Rakefon’s M9 Pistol. "Next" he called. They were using three captive strategy with the captives. If the first one didn’t talk, you’d kill him to show the other two you weren’t messing around. This usually got the second one talking, knowing you weren’t afraid to kill captives, because you had more. In this case it worked. "The new order was established in 2000. The Russians were put in charge of it. It was designed to take out the most powerful country in the world, obviously America. It started with the terrorist attacks of 2001 and then we fixed the election of 2008, getting a foreign President in office, to weaken you guys internally. Then after you guys wrapped-up the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, we figured that it would be a good time to catch you off guard by taking out the rejections." "Which would be who?" questioned Rakefon. "Egypt and South Korea rejected the idea. Mexico said it wanted to stay neutral, so we have no quarrel with them, but we will eventually take their land." Rakefon got on the phone to speak with the Supreme Court. Obama needed to be impeached right away and to alert the country that War World 3 was beginning, U.S. vs. Russia with Russia controlling the rest of the world.

Greatness

Greatness=Responsibility Greatness=Achivements What makes a player great? Is it how they break or shake through the game? Or, is it how they make or break the game by one shot? You cannot get greatness, It comes to you, Greatness
What if there was no water? what if there was no air? What if there were no plants? What if there were no animals? What if there were no humans? What if there was no Earth? What if there was no sun? What if there was no solar system? What if there was no Milky Way galaxy? What if there was universe? Then what would there be?

Advancements in technology may mean a bright future for humans. Some people today are asking the question, “What will technology be like in the future?” In the future, technology has the potential to bring disease free people, gene changing, and aging as a preference. However, will people abuse these powers? If so, there will be significant weaknesses in this future. Technology advancements can be helpful or harmful. First of all, future technology advancement will be excellent because people may be able to live disease free. Many people today are being harmed from diseases like cancer that destroy the body, but in the future, humans won’t have to worry about being vulnerable to diseases. On the other hand, people may abuse this power to cause an enormous amount of damage. This feature can be bad because any person can be abusive with this power. Ray Kurzweil, a scientist says, “We don’t know if people will abuse this power. They may, and in that case, it would be bad for other humans.” What the scientist is trying to say, is that abusing this power would result in a negative action like curing animals or plants that shouldn’t be cured. Freed from worry over disease, humans can focus on life with all cures for all diseases. Not only will humans live disease free, but people will be allowed to change their genes to their choosing. The same scientist, Ray Kurzweil, states, “People will be able to adjust their genes to their preference.” Ray is trying to say anybody can change their weight, height, or hair color and much more. With this outcome, people can even change genders. This is a good way to solve problems instead of asking other people. Basically, people become more independent. However, humans can mishandle this feature by turning taller or larger to harm other humans. Being allowed to change genes is very risky to mankind but people are already willing to take the chance. The future will also bring aging at a speed of what certain people prefer. In the world today, people age how they are intended to at a normal pace but in future times, technology will allow them to choose the pace at which they intend. For example, if humans want to be twelve years old for a long time, they can. If humans want to stay being a toddler, they can. But on the flip side, aren’t people cheating life if they do this? People are not aging at a rate which their human body is intended to do. Not aging may bring happiness to people, but some humans may say they are cheating themselves. Therefore, lack of aging will be helpful to some and cheating to others. In conclusion, future technology will bring disease free people, gene changing, and aging changes. All these features are potentially good but humans have to look on the other side of things and ask questions like, “Won’t technology advancements create catastrophic problems?” Technology advancements are like a roller coaster that has many ups and downs.

Cyber War

“Commander Jones, I’ve been expecting you. You are one of the four chosen to participate in this experiment” said Dr. Grover. Dr. Grover, the one that wore a white lab coat, was a frail fifty year old woman with silver hair and blue square glasses. She was no bigger than five foot five. With wrinkles in each corner of her eyes and around her cheeks. Her eyes were a mint blue that resembled the artic water. “You’ll be the leader of Delta Team. You’re squad will be an elite tactical force that’s our nations last hope. Your operating room is 24 B and it’s down the hall on the left. See you soon” said Dr. Grover. As she passed, Jones made his way down the hall glancing at every door. When he noticed his room he cautiously opened the door. The room was a big white box. It was at least fifty degrees and had a huge control panel. The lights on the panel lit up like Christmas lights. There were green buttons, blue buttons, red, and about five other colors. Frightened and brave he layed down while the surgeons injected him with a shot to knock him out and hooked up a tube in his arm that would give him his daily nutrients for the days he would be asleep. When Jones drifted off the surgeons started his transformation. The procedure was complex. The surgeons removed his blood and replaced it with nanoscopic artificial blood. The artificial blood would do the same as regular blood, but will ensure no disease infected him. They placed a processor on the stem of his brain so he could access 100% of it. They would replace his bones with a rubbery flexible metal alloy so he can change into any shape possible. The last step was to make him able to see in the dark. The procedure took days to complete. When Jones woke up he was in a hospital bed in the recovery room. His whole body was sore. It felt like he got hit by a truck. His eyes felt heavy and his bones felt different. He got out of his bed and looked out the window he saw an eagle fly by and thought what it would feel like to fly. Then, all of a sudden his arms stretched and grew wider. Then he looked down at his arms and they were wings. Dr. Grover’s harsh voice slashed all silence in the hospital. “Where’s my patient!?” she exclaimed. After Grover’s voice startled Jones, the wings collapsed inward and his arms went back to normal. “Jones, the soldier, is in the recovery room” said the nurse with an intimidated voice. As soon as Dr. Grover heard that she bolted down the hall to see how Jones recovered. When she talked to him she told him how he will be a hero after the mission. She also informed him about how his robotic blood would allow him breath in the most hazardous places; and answered all of his questions and confusions. Jones weighed 200 pounds before the transformation and was six feet tall. After the surgery he was 7 feet tall and 400 pounds. And he noticed his eyes were a glowing green like a radio active light bulb. “The glowing green eyes are a permanent effect from the night vision that your eyes are now capable of ” said Dr. Grover. “ Get dressed so you can meet the rest of your team in the conference room.” He wandered the hall lost, but eventually found the place after 5 minutes of searching. Jones walked into the room and saw the rest of his team. The conference room had a big screen a least 5 feet wide. His new team mates were sitting around a table and looked like they were ready for anything. He noticed that they all had glowing green eyes too from the transformation. They all had scares that represented great victories fought with strength. There was a man in the center of the circular room standing proud. He had an unusual uniform with many metals and awards pinned on it. His hat had 4 stars on it which meant he was high in rank. The patch on his chest read Hudson. “Hello Jones,” said Hudson. “I’m general Hudson.” “Hello sir,” replied Jones while shaking Hudson’s had firmly. “Well, Its time to meet your team,” said Hudson. “This will be your sniper, Grand. He has been a Navy sniper foe six years. Your pilot/engineer will be Alpine. She was a U.S. Air Force pilot for three years. There was never a dog fight that any of her team mates died that she was in. And last, but not least, is Jefferson. Jefferson specializes in special ops missions. He served as a green beret in the Marines for over 40 missions.” Introduced Dr. Grover. “You will be delta team. Your mission will decide the fate of our way of life. The communist countries China and Cuba have teamed up to destroy us. They created a new weapon aiming right at us called Nano Fog. Nano Fog is a poisonous gas with microscopic robots that destroys your vital organs. There are five launch zones scattered across the world. The location is unknown. Your team will find them and blow each of them up. If you fail, then the world as we know it will be in danger. Once the bomb is detonated the nano robots cannot be stopped.” said General Hudson. Delta team went to the air plain hanger, got in the D28 airplane and set of to find the first bomb. Ten Years Later: “Jones was a global legend. The destruction of the bombs, even though it killed him, was his way of going out with a bang. He taught the world to believe in our darkest hour. Legends like him will never be forgotten.” spoke General Hudson at a speech in Washington DC.

Life

I'm trapped and life won’t let me out

I’ll fight to keep it going now

My head won’t stop spinning around

Soon it will all be going down

But we can only fight so hard

And we can only live so long

We should live it up right now

Before it’s all gone

It Was Him

It Was Him without a noise without a step without a breath It Was Him without a sigh without a lie without a cry It was Him without a but without a stomp without a bleep It Was Him without a thought without a word without a point It Was Him without a deal without a fist and without a blush, All I know is, It Was Him.

Misconception

I finally
understood
everything about
people, happiness, life even
I was no longer confused
for there was nothing
to haze my thoughts
the fog had cleared so to say
But then a shadow
appeared to me
and showed me
something new
lies, anger, ghosts
and I was back where I started
wandering alone in the forest of fears
The trees are barren
I must get out
I am slowly forgetting
and I am forced
with the arduous task
of remembering
my past, my present
and figuring out my future
Too many obstacles
Too many ideas
Too much everything
Life was simpler ignorant.

Behind a Closed Door

Behind a closed door, anything could happen. You don't know what people have, what they don"t. You don't know what they go through, what they don't. Regardless you keep hammering the door, until it finally opens. The truth pours out, and you wish you didn't know. But you also wish, you never hit the door at all.

We'll Remember The Memories

We'll remember the memories

The ones we shared

The ones we laughed about

The ones we smiled at

The ones we cried for

The ones we loved

The ones we want to bring back

We'll remember the memories

The ones where we danced

The ones where we laughed

The ones where we sang

The ones where we cried

The ones where enjoyed ourselves

The ones where we lived

We'll remember the memories

We'll remember our friends

We'll remember the love

We'll remember the tears

No matter where we go

Or what we do

We'll remember the memories

We shared with you

(Note: For those of you who know my inspiration, don't cry, please)

I Caught a Leprechaun

On a bright, shiny day I woke up and remembered something. Today was St. Patrick’s Day! I jumped out of bed and ran upstairs. “Happy St. Patrick’s Day!” I told my parents, brothers, and my baby sisters. After that, I went outside to get some fresh air. While I was walking I tripped over my own foot and fell down the steps. That hurt but I sat up to regain my conscious when suddenly I found a 4-leaf clover. I looked left, looked right and there was something green next to a green bush. “Camouflaging ay,” I said to myself. I ran over there but I tripped over my foot again but this time landed on a $20 bill. “Cha-ching,” as I picked up the cash and looked back at the green substance. There in the bush was an angry leprechaun! “Stay away from me pot O’ gold or I’ll”… “BAM” as I knocked the leprechaun unconscious, put him in a big, brown garbage bag and called him Leppy. I took Leppy back into my house and waited until he woke up. We played some video games and at that moment I found out he was lost and he doesn’t know where his family is. Of course I didn’t take that seriously and went up to the corner store to get some gum. (Trident Tropical Twist to be exact). Leppy was saying something about him getting shipped away for some strange reason I don’t remember because well… I wasn’t paying attention. Then I went to McDonalds ordering two Double Hamburgers, medium fries, with two 4-piece chicken nuggets and a small Hi-C drink. I finished all of it. “That was delicious,” I told Leppy while licking my fingers. While I was walking home I met up with my brother Dorian and he was of course saying big words I don’t know about. Then I met with Leppy’s parents and they went back to leprechaun world. So, after a tragic moment I didn’t really care about, Dorian and I went to Sean’s house to settle for some Lucky Charms. In the Luck Charms box was something green. It jumped out! It was the leprechaun from the Lucky Charms commercial! “Ahhhh,” we all said. Sean ran into his room, I ran in Sean’s closet and Dorian with his smart self did some scientific experiments on it. “Could this get any worse,” I said to myself. My luck just went down when suddenly a UFO came down. Tony the tiger, the rabbit from Trix commercial, and the dog from the Cookie Crisp commercial took our Cookie Crisp, Trix, and Frosted Flakes. After that the animals left. As Sean and I started to finish are Lucky Charms I asked “I wonder what happened to the leprechaun?” We both said at the same time “we’ll never know.”

Remember When

Remember when Jersey Shore was Barney? Remember when uggs were light up shoes? Remember when relationships were girls and boys had cooties? Remember when drama was stealing your favorite crayon? Remember when we were little? Can we go back?

Just For You

For the one who is always there.

For the one who broke me many times.

For the one who believed in me when I didn't.

For the one who is always up for a good laugh.

For the one who is only there to point out my flaws.

For the one who is never afraid to be themself.

For the one who constantly has a smile on their face.

For the one who is a good listener.

For the one who always needs to be the center of attention.

And for all the people who have come and gone throughout my life and the ones that are still here, thank you because you guys made me who I am today.

Poverty's Hero (Independent Study on urbanization section)

Poverty was similar to an orphan child; it cries for help, and normally nobody answers. That is how it was treated in yesterday’s alleys, dark walkways, and grueling tenements.

The life of a typical poor person was worst than what average people imagined. Every day, more people were losing money. More people were forced to live in tenements with no heat, indoor plumbing, and windows. More people became victims of diseases by sharing a small room with ill families with nowhere to go.

However, reformers came to help the lower class. The most effective of them all was Jane Adams, a sympathetic woman who opened a settlement house call the Hull House in Chicago. Both the house and Addams became pioneers, making other women build settlement houses.

“I just did what I thought was right,” Jane stated. “I came from a great family who helped everyone they came in contact with, so I thought I should give to the community, too”.

In 1879, 78% of the population was poor and penniless. Now, only 53% is poor, thanks to the improved care for the families with no money. But Jane Addams gave the most care.

Perfectly Confused

Why am I the one who has to walk alone,
the one who lives day by day with just myself.
The one who watches stands and waits,
hoping someday I will find my place.
Why am I the one who can't find people who accept me,
people who I don't have to be self conscious around,
people who I don't have to wonder if they really like me.
Why am I the one who envies others for fitting in so easily,
the one who can barely picture myself in that position.
Why am I the one who can blame herself for having no one.

Our Planet

I stepped outside and inhaled the warm summer air as I glanced around my neighborhood. The grass on the people's yards was greener than you could ever imagine. I noticed how the flowers were in perfect places around the yard- enough to get your attention. I started to walk down the narrow street, which was a narrow strip of gravel. I kicked the rocks as I walked along, admiring the fact that they bounced fifty feet with every kick. Then, I came across something I had never noticed before. There was a house the size of a peanut with flowers that were sticks with wet leaves dangling from the top. The barley there grass was yellow and unhealthy. If I had the gumption, I would have knocked on his door and told him to clean it up and make it look like it was alive. I walked away, thinking how someone could leave their yard looking like his does.

True to Your Word

Every day, it's something new.
Another story.
Another excuse.
Another lie.
It's okay though, I'm used to it. It's not like I expect anything else. At this point I might actually find it odd if you told me the truth.
You say things, too. You tell me I'm not worth it, that you don't know why you're still here. Why you even waste your time on me. As if I could give you an answer.
With all of your knowledge you could probably write a book about how to shoot a smile off of someone's face. It's a gift actually. There aren't many people in the world that can make me feel as bad as you.
But there is a catch. You see, all of these times that you make me feel like I don't matter, it's clear to me that I do. If you really didn't care, then you wouldn't lie. You wouldn't try to hide the things you did because you didn't care about my reaction. And no matter what you say to me, no matter how many times you ask yourself why you haven't left yet, you're still here. You do care, whether you want to or not, and I can see it.
It's just too bad that it's slowly killing me.

The Other Side

When you look through a telescope,

Yes there is always the conventional way,

But that isn’t the only way.

Have you ever thought

That instead of looking up

You could flip it around

And look the other way?

It may be harder to see,

And it may make you look a bit strange

But in the end,

You win.

You see things from both sides of the telescope,

Where no one else has bothered to look.

As there is more than one side

To every story told,

And more than one set of eyes

To see the world from,

One cannot just assume

That things are always as they seem.

So next time you look through the telescope,

Or read a heroic tale,

Look through the small end and the large end,

And read backwards and forwards.

And in time

I promise you will see

There’s a lot more to things

Than what’s obviously there.

Jasey rae

I've never told a lie,
And that makes me a liar,
I've never made a bet,
But we gamble in desire,
I've never lit a match,
With intent to start a fire,
But recently the flames,
Are getting out of control.

This is one of my favorite songs and every time i listen to it i always think about what this means after. What do you think it means.

One Step Closer to Nowhere

For the longest time
it was me and the fog.
My two feet
paving the path,
finding the trail,
leading me on,
into the abyss.

For the longest time
it was me and my heart.
My inner instinct
mapping the march,
searching for hope,
praying for light,
within the darkness.

Then I found it,
the stream of light
falling from the sky.
But when I reached inside
I discovered
reality.

Rainbows are cold.

Behind A Closed Door

Behind a closed door, anything could happen. You don't know what people have, what they don't. You don't know what they go, what they don't. Regardless you keep hammering the door, until it finally opens. The truth pours out, and you wish you didn't know. But you also wish, you never hit the door at all.

Forgiveness

A wall of water pours out of my eyes like water out of a faucet.
The words are formidable and hit me like a brick wall.
"Your not good enough. You can't do it."
My teeth clench, my face turns red.
I can feel my insides increase in temperature.
I strain my throat screaming back,
"Yes I can. Just watch me."
You walk away in disgust.
I continue to sob and you can care less.
Later, I apologize for something I didn't do to keep the peace.
God forbid something tragic happened and i lost you while I was angry with you.
I try to give you hug. And what do I get in return? A pat on the back.
My heart sinks. I hold my breath to keep the tears in.
How can you be that shallow?
I try to keep myself together.
I will forgive. But I will never forget.
