Perfectly Confused

Why am I the one who has to walk alone,
the one who lives day by day with just myself.
The one who watches stands and waits,
hoping someday I will find my place.
Why am I the one who can't find people who accept me,
people who I don't have to be self conscious around,
people who I don't have to wonder if they really like me.
Why am I the one who envies others for fitting in so easily,
the one who can barely picture myself in that position.
Why am I the one who can blame herself for having no one.

  1. I really like this poem because I think that a lot of people can relate to it. I know that I have sometimes questioned if the people I am friends with are really truly my friend for who I am and not for who they want me to be. I have a feeling that a lot of people have felt this way at least once in their life. Therefore, this poem is realtable.

  2. This is good because it is relate able. For example, everyone has felt like they don't fit in or don't belong at one point in their lives. I definitely have. I also liked how you used repetition for affect. For example you start each section with "Why am I the one...". You also repeat each line with "the one.." or "people who...". It helps the flow of the poem. Therefore this poem is good.

  3. This is a good poem because of the repetition. For example the repeated use of, "Why am I." This made me connect to myself and other people around me. The repetition was used effectively and well. I related this poem to myself because sometimes I ask myself the same questions. Therefore, the repetition and the connections this poem let too made it very good.
