It's going to take a little while for this pain to go away,
for this hurt to heal,
but I'll make it through it.
Just like always.
Loosing you was like loosing my bestfriend,
even though I knew you liked them better.
We laughed about things, that no one would.
But then you started giving up on yourself,
and something took hold of you.
You drank to the point you didn't know my name, but we all had to adjust to it.
We did, cause you were our grandma. We loved you, and nothing would change that.
I know you were streseds about everything, I understand I do.
But now I'm at the point where I cry because I'm more mad then upset, because there
could have been a cure, to fix you and make you better again.
But thinking about it now, even though it was just a little while ago..
I know your in a better place now, and I know that you know I love you, and now
that's all that matters to me.

I thought this was a great piece of writing! I thought it was really good how you used the simile," loosing you was like loosing my bestfriend." I also liked how you took this from a real life situation. I'm sure many people can relate to this. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteBriana, this piece was amazing. I could really connect to this, because my grandpa just passed away Saturday. I liked how you said, Loosing you was like loosing my best friend, which is a simile. Overall, I thought this was really good, and I'm sorry about your grandma.
ReplyDeleteThis really is a good poem because i have personally have never read anything like this. I havent seen poems or stories about losing a loved one then making people wonder who it was that you weere talking about. Therefore, this truly was a unique poem.

One of my favorite line is when you said, "I know your in a better place now, and I know that you know I love you, and now that's all that matters to me." This was such a nice line. I loved how you took a situation and wrote about it. I know how hard it is to loose someone you love and I know its hard to write about your feelings. I give you major props Bri! Greattt Jobb!

I also noticed a shift in your poem right before you said "But then you started giving up on yourself,". Overall your poem was great and I can only imagine how hard it was to go through that and to write this poem. Great Job!!
