Think
What is the world coming to? A place where depression is the normal? A place where people wear fake smiles like socks and shoes? There are faces, a million miles out, just waiting for the end. It is reality. There are people, who wear their face like a mask; covering up their true colors. They fear that if people see the real person behind their disguise, they will be accused, blamed, and hurt. Is this truly the world we live in? Yes. I wish everyone would take off their masks, shine, and be seen. Let the world see their beatiful face. I wish people can look pass the flaws of people and look and their heart. Just think, when you are walking down the hall and see all of the smiles and laughs, it is most likely just a mask. It is just a cover-up. It is just an act.

This piece was great, Kris! I think everything you said is really true and made me think about how many people are afraid to be themselves because of what others may think. For example you said, "There are people, who wear their face like a mask; covering up their true colors." I think that is so true in our world, today. Therefore this piece was very real and made me think of how it applies to our school. I also liked you clincher "it is most likely just a mask. It is just a cover-up. It is just an act." I liked how it used repetition for effect and summed up the piece nicely!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kelly. This story was pretty good. I liked the part about the act. Every thing you said was true. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThis piece was good because the questions in the beginning provoked a lot of thought, which made for a good lead and it was relateable. In the piece it is stated, "What is the world coming to? A place where depression is the normal? A place where people wear fake smiles like socks and shoes? There are faces, a million miles out, just waiting for the end. It is reality." The series of questions (triplet) got me interested from the beginning and made me think, and honestly, I wonder these same questions sometimes too. Therefore this was a good piece because the questions used as a lead were intriguing, it made me think, and the piece was relatable.
